Deadlines
A deadline is negative inspiration.
Still, it’s better than no inspiration at all.
- Rita Mae Brown
My husband often comments that he doesn’t know how we ever found time to work, for now – in our retirement years, we seem to be busier than we ever were. However, the positive side of volunteering is that one can choose to work where one’s ‘passion’ lies and use whatever gifts and talents we have in doing so. Also (for the most part), we can choose the hours we volunteer.
We obviously wouldn’t live any other way – for we care about our city and our community and want to help where we are able – and have quality of life where we live.
A joy is meeting and working with the most interesting folks and making ‘connections’ – we love it! {Also, to know that places such as the is helping hundreds of children in our community – thank goodness we have this facility here – with such dedicated staff and volunteers.}
There are so many opportunities in Seguin to volunteer and I dare say that hundreds of citizens volunteer in many areas in this city.
God bless them all.
That said: I’m running up against a couple of deadlines for volunteer work I’ve chosen and the rush of adrenalin and the hope that I make these deadlines is on my mind. Not that the earth will stop revolving or I will be blindfolded and standing on the firing line if I don’t finish the projects by a certain date. [Remember that song: "Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother" . . . or something like that?? Jerry Jeff Walker ??]
my thoughts are meandering. all over the place. and who cares? about such aimless musings . . .
Is there such a thing as “Mindful Meandering?”
If so, I doubt that this frivolous post qualifies . . .
Your life will find its own paths…
and that they be good, rich, and wide
is what I wish for you,
more than I can say.
