I’m So Proud of This Church!
Yesterday I had the opportunity to serve alongside several hundred volunteers from who gave up their Saturday to serve others. We invaded the with a desire to make a difference.
This particular shelter is the only one in our community equipped to house the entire family. Other shelters often have to split the family up. In addition to housing the families for a certain period of time, they also set up transitional housing for the families until the can get back up on their feet again.
Cross Point did a lot of painting, cleaning, landscaping, and organizing to the main shelter. We also had teams at a couple of the transitional homes doing construction. And last, but certainly not least, we had volunteers who watched the kids back at the church and teams that provided food for everyone at all the sites.
I love watching the church in action. I love watching the church live out their faith. I love watching people use their gifts and abilities to serve the under resourced. I love watching the church being the Body of Christ. I love .
If you served I want to hear how it impacted you...leave me a comment!
I love being your pastor,
Pete
