Ratatouille, Amy and A Picnic
Last week, I managed to spend quite a bit of time with Amy.
***********
First, we had a date with Remy from .

The movie was fun... and I would recommend the G rated film for kids and adults.
"Remy is a rat, constantly risking life in an expensive French restaurant because of his love of good food, as well as a desire to become a chef. Yet, obviously, this is a rather tough dream for a rat. But opportunity knocks when a young boy, who desperately needs to keep his job at the restaurant, despite his lack of cooking abilities, discovers and partners the young Remy. Its up to the two of them to avoid the insane head chef, bring the rest of Remy's family up to his standards, win his partner a girl, and, of course, produce the finest Ratatouille in all of France." from .
Amy enjoyed it and that is what really mattered... We both had a great time hanging out.
Afterward we ran an errand before meeting DH for dinner at The Charcoal Grill... it was Kid's Night and Amy received a balloon (which we left tied to our booth - whoops!) and a fun children's activity placemat with crayons. While she colored and tried out the games, we had fun telling DH all about the movie. He was sad he didn't get to go.
There were a few times during our time at the restaurant where we had to reel her in a bit with table manners, etc... but really she behaved very well. She's six!! LOL!

The next night, Amy, DH and I attended the local Annual Picnic.
Amy gobbled her sandwich and chips down so we could get busy and play all the games!
OK -- Normally, I would have pressed DELETE on this picture immediately. It's NOT the most attractive picture I've had taken... but seriously this really CRACKED ME UP! We were playing Water Balloon Volleyball and apparently, I took launching that little water balloon very seriously. It's almost as if I'm trying to WILL the little pink balloon up from the towel and over the net. Maybe I was trying to scare it over with the look on my face? Needless to say, a few moments later... we were both splashed with water, since the pink balloon simply dropped and had no intention of doing what we wanted it to do.
Amy retrieving Frisbees in one of the many games...
The Bucket Toss Game was Amy's favorite... She managed to launch that ball into the furthest bucket a few times... She's good.
Can anyone say HAIRCUT?!! As you can see, I was having problems SEEING the buckets to loft that weightless little ball into... not to mention the wind taking the ball in a different direction. LOL! I got my well over due haircut two days later.
I LOVE the look on Amy's face.. this is what makes spending time with her all worth while.
After leaving the picnic... we scored some dessert. They didn't have Bubble Gum Dilly Bars when I was a kid!!
Amy decided my Lemon-Lime Mr. Misty slushy looked pretty tasty too... it was hard to get it back from her!
It was a fabulous and fun time with Amy... this week I'm not sure what we'll do. Crafts? Back to the library? Children's museum? We'll see what inspires us.

My class reunion is next month.
Yeah.
TWENTY YEAR REUNION.
It doesn't really FEEL like it's been twenty years, but that could be another post all together. OK, it likely will be.
Maybe I'll locate my HS pic from 1987... that's a hilarious picture too! Who's up for a good laugh? LOL!
Anyhoooo.... I had one of the BBBS volunteers take a pic of DH and I so I could send it to the organizers for the reunion to put into THE book.
While, it's VERY tempting to send the Water Balloon Volleyball OR the incredible Bucket Toss picture... alas, DH isn't IN either of those pictures! LOL! Soooooo, it will likely be one of the two below.
DH and I late last week, July 19, 2007
Easter 2007 - visiting my Uncle's farm with the kids.
I would crop the latter picture so it would zoom in on all of us better.. but the problem is, those are my cousin's children. I say, "Who cares?" but then again.. they are my cousin's children. LOL! The deal is, I think DH and I look better in this picture. When I crop the pic with just the two of us in it, we look distorted. I don't want us to look distorted for THE book. LOL!
This shouldn't be a big deal and really it isn't. Really. Why do they have to make such a big deal for THE book?!
Maybe I'll get someone to take another pic of DH and I sometime this week...
Anyone know Photo Shop so it looks like I have body? Oh and you'll have to be REALLY good so it looks like I have her body when I show up in person for the reunion weekend in a few weeks too.
