Reading & Mentoring Students at Edison Elementary
Beginning in January we will be sharing the love of Christ with our community by partnering with in Antioch. Principal Ronald Powe is in need of volunteer mentors and readers to help the students in our community succeed.
As a volunteer, you would spend 20 to 30 minutes one day a week with a student. Readers spend time with a student to help bring his or her reading up to grade level. A mentor talks with and provides encouragement to a student through regular meetings. Both of these programs have been shown to increase the chance of a student's success at school and in life. Taking the time to help the children in our community is a great way to share the love that Christ has shown us with those around us!
