Reason #6: He’s a tireless volunteer.

I am constantly accused by my wife of not being able to say no to any request for volunteer help. Maybe she's right. But there is no better feeling than working side by side with good people on something we care about together. And this town has a vast number of things to care about.

Some of the things that have meant a lot:

Serving as a warden of St. Philip's Church.
Serving as Treasurer of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival.
Working on the implementation piece of the Comprehensive Plan, Philipstown 2020.
Serving as the Secretary of the Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce.
Helping Tim Donovan coach lacrosse.
Acting in plays at the Philipstown Depot Theatre and helping out there, too.
I've enjoyed helping Councilwoman Betty Budney rake leaves in the Cedar Avenue cemetery and announcing a charity basketball game for the Garrison Children's Education Fund. All these volunteer opportunities taken together represent the ties that we have to each other, to the Town, and that keep us a community.
