Volunteering & Volunteer Students

Well, isn´t this great. The authorities of Rio have decided to prolong the kids´winter holidays for a week (at least) due to the risk of swine flu. Now, let me just state, that the situation isn´t bad in Rio or in Brazil in general, so the decision seems a bit exaggarated.

I had emailed my fellow English teacher at the Ballet asking her about the organization of next week´s English classes since the other main teacher is not going to be there. I wanted to know whether I would be teaching the kids alone, because I wanted to make the lesson plans. She answers me two days later informing me that the Ballet is going to be closed at least next week due to the prorrogation of the holidays. Thank you, people, for informing me and thank you so much, since this means that my 8-week volunteer experience just got shrinked to 4-week volunteering and 4-week holidays.
