Three Cheers for Volunteers!
Hello Everybody! About a week and a half ago St. Agnes held its Fall Clean Up Day and it was so much more fun than working around my own house. For starters there was food – breakfast and lunch. That alone would get me in the door. But the most important part were there other volunteers.
With 27 school families represented – adults and kids- it was more like a party than a day filled with chores. The Polo family, whose son graduated from SAS last spring, were there to help out and stay connected. It was great to see them painting the halls! The kids all had a fun time which helped the adults enjoy themselves as well. The halls of the big and little school were ringing with laughter and an occasional quickly mumbled bad word.
Several days later I saw the list of all that was accomplished and I was astounded. Painting, cleaning, repairing, planting, digging out, organizing, recycling and hauling. You name it – it was done! By the time the day was over the school had received a beautiful facelift and was ready for winter. I think it’s safe to say that many new friendships were made and acquaintances strengthened.
Thanks to everyone who worked together to make St. Agnes look beautiful – we are truly blessed!
