Volunteer for Centro de Protección al niño Tierra de Judá in Nicaragua

This orphanage houses 29 children whose ages range from newborn to thirteen years of age. They also have a pre-school for the community and offer health services for kids, providing them with a pediatrician, nutritionist, and psychologist. Perhaps the most important role of this organization is providing the children with love and care not only for their physical needs but for their emotional needs as well.
This placement runs on a very small budget, and they can’t afford to pay employees’ vacation time, so by providing volunteers, employees can take their time off and the orphanage still has staff to care for the kids.

A volunteer in this placement can work in anything from taking care of the infants, playing with the toddlers and children, helping in the health unit, to attending to kids during meals and snack time. It will be a meaningful experience for both the volunteers and the children s/he is helping.

Volunteer can assist by doing the following tasks:
As with any other volunteer services with kids, this includes feeding, changing diapers, playing or teaching basic English to the older kids.

Other tasks that you may be requested to preform outside of your core duties:
You could help with mopping or sweeping up the floor, doing the dishes, laundry or doing some conservation work.
