Dear Colleague,
Volunteers Week 1st – 7th June
We are now planning for the 25th Annual Volunteers Week and I would very much like your organisation to be part of the major event that we are planning to mark this.
This high profile, national week of action provides the perfect opportunity for you to celebrate the work of your volunteers, raise the profile of your organisation and recruit new volunteers to your team.
This year, we are planning several events, including a parade of volunteers through the centre of Swadlincote on Saturday morning, 6th June led by volunteers from uniformed organisations, including members of the Air Training Corps. The majority of the parade will be volunteers from organisations across South Derbyshire.
We will assemble on Eureka Park, John Street, Swadlincote at 10:00. The parade will leave at 10:30, making our way through the town centre to South Derbyshire CVS, where light refreshments will be available.
Please leave your car in one of the town centre car parks as parking is not permitted on Eureka Park.
In order to help with the planning of this event, please complete and return the to us, or let us have your reply by email to by Friday 15th May 2009
We are also arranging media coverage of the event.
I hope to see you and your volunteers on 6th June.
Yours sincerely
Dave Thomas
